Princess Kate's in-laws are breaking their silence on her cancer diagnosis.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan spoke out Friday, sending well wishes to the Princess of Wales.
"We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace," Harry and Meghan said in a statement.
Kate, 42, shared her diagnosis of an undisclosed form of cancer in a video message from Kensington Palace Friday. She is undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.
"I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you personally for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I've been recovering from surgery," Kate said in the video. "It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family. But I've had a fantastic medical team who've taken great care of me, for which I'm so grateful.
"In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London. And at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous," she continued. "The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present."
Princess Kate has cancer, palace says;King Charles III, Harry and Meghan react
In a statement from Buckingham Palace, King Charles III said he was "so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did," according to People and The Guardian.
Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year.
"During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," Buckingham Palace said in a statement in February.
Harry traveled to London shortly after to see his father, after the British monarch announced his diagnosis.
"I spoke to him. And I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could," the Duke of Sussex said on "Good Morning America" in a segment that aired in February of the moment he learned about his father's health.
